You wanted a circumcised penis, you also get a circumcised heart.

They say “circumcise your heart” in the Bible.

They mean it metaphorically, some kind of spiritual cleansing.

But I know what circumcision actually does to an organ.

It dries it out.

It hardens it.

It numbs it.

So if that’s what they want a circumcised heart, then fine.

Here it is.

When you took my foreskin, you didn’t just take a piece of skin.

You took something deeper.

You took the part of me that thought the world was kind.

You took my belief that people protect their children.

You took my trust in adults to do the right thing.

So yeah, now I have a circumcised heart.

You didn’t think when you took my foreskin that you would also be taking my faith in humanity. My ability to love.

You got what you wanted. Now take my circumcised heart. Take this dried out hardened and unfeeling heart. It cares not for you or your issues. It does not presume your innocence. It does not forgive your indecency.

But the moment I was strapped down and cut without consent was the moment I learned:

love doesn’t always protect.

Sometimes it mutilates, then lies about it.

Don’t expect softness from me.

You carved it out before I had a say.

You wanted my body altered? You got it.

Now live with what else that changed.

My heart doesn’t beat for you anymore.

Not for your culture.

Not for your justifications.

Not for your need to feel like a good parent, or a moral doctor, or a decent person.

This is the result.

Not just a circumcised body.

But a circumcised heart.

The Concept Itself is absolutely Disgusting

They say “circumcise your heart” in the Bible.

They mean it metaphorically—some kind of spiritual cleansing.

But stop and really think about that.

That phrase makes circumcision sound like a good thing.

Like it’s purifying. Holy. Something you should want done to your most vital parts—your heart, your soul.

That’s sick.

They’ve taken a violent, bloody act cutting a piece off a helpless infant’s genitals and turned it into a symbol of faith and moral refinement.

They made mutilation sound noble.

And we wonder why people are numb to the reality of what’s actually happening?

Language like that is how abuse survives.

Dress it up in holiness. Wrap it in metaphor. Call it cleansing.

But I’ve seen what circumcision really is.

There’s nothing sacred about it.

It doesn’t purify.

It damages.

Just like it did to me.
